Experiencing some extreme entertainments in Spain

If you’ve booked your cheap flight Spain this year you may well be wondering what to do to sample the best that Spanish culture has to offer.  With a long and complex history Spain has some amazing things to do and see, and some unique traditions that should be sampled while you’re there.  Bullfighting is to Spain what Morris Dancing is to England.  OK, not quite; bullfighting is colourful, glamorous, dangerous, spectacular and potentially full of blood and guts (always a hit with kids).  Morris Dancing can be quite colourful, I’ve heard.

Not everyone likes the idea of bullfighting and, yes, it could be considered to be a cruel sport – although in the case of the latter it’s usually the spectators who suffer.  However, even if you object to Bullfighting, it is such a huge part of Spanish Culture that it’s worth a look at. Whatever you think of bullfighting soaking up the carnival atmosphere of the event gives you a real insight into Spanish life and culture.  Unlike many British folk traditions, bullfighting remains central to Spanish culture – and is one experience that you will remember for a lifetime.  You may even return home thinking it could be an idea to introduce a bull into the Morris dancing tradition!
